Dr. Parks practices integrative medicine, psychiatry and environmental medicine. His focus is on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of nutritional, physical, emotional and environmental problems. He is specialty-trained in psychiatry, internal, family and preventive medicine, with a background in environmental medicine, nutrition, macrobiotics and other natural healing arts. He is a skilled lecturer, workshop leader and consultant with an M.D. from the University of Maryland, a Master’s Degree in Public Health and Health Services Research from UCLA, specialty-trained in Internal Medicine at George Washington University, Preventive Medicine at UCLA, and Psychiatry at the University of Maryland. Dr. Parks in the past was an Assistant Professor at The Albany & University of Miami Medical Schools, Chief of Internal Medicine at the Homestead Air Force Base Hospital & former Director of the Center for Preventive and Nutritional Health Care in Baltimore, Maryland. He is currently practicing in Asheville, NC, and recently with his associate, Dr. Alan Vinitsky, published a chapter in Advancing Medicine with Food & Nutrition, Second Edition, 2012, Ingrid Kohlstadt, Editor, Chapter 32.
